But the second game of Nigeria saw them score just one against Sweden. The lone goal was scored by Sadiq Umar.

Nigeria is currently on top of group E on their preliminary bracket. They are leading Colombia, Japan and Sweden respectively.

Moreover, Portugal is also dominant in their preliminary bracket so far. The Portuguese team is on top of group D over Honduras, Argentina and Algeria.

Portugal played their first game against Argentina. The Argentine squad is short-handed since they currently play without Lionel Messi in their 2016 Rio Olympics Men’s football campaign.

Coincidentally, Portugal is also playing without their star player, Cristiano Ronaldo. The forward from Real Madrid in La Liga is out because of an injury. This is really a notable match since the two country’s best players are not playing.

Portugal turned out to be the better team as they defeated Argentina by a score of two goals to nil. The goals were scored by Portugal’s forward Paciencia and defender Pite in the second half of the match.

However, Portugal kept their composure and scored the next two goals of the match in the first half itself. The goals were scored by defender Figueiredo Tobias and Paciencia.

Nigeria will next face Algeria, while Portugal will be pitted against Colombia in the 2016 Rio Olympics Men’s football competition. The two games are scheduled on August 11 CST.
