2016 Rio Olympics: Ryan Lochte fabricates robbery? Evidence reveals interesting twist

We are days passed the mysterious discoloration of the diving pools in the 2016 Rio Olympics, and yet stranger things continue to occur. It may look like something similar to a Hardy Boys plot, as authorities now focus its investigations on Michael Phelp’s teammates: Ryan Lochte, Jack Conger, Gunnar Bentz and Jimmy Feigen.

The U.S. swimmers were allegedly robbed at gunpoint on Sunday by armed men posing as police officers, while on their way to meet Brazilian swimmer Thiago Pereira to a party, as reported by Sporting News.

“I think they’re all shaken up. There were a few of them,” Ryan Lochte’s mother, Ileana Lochte said.

“… They just took their wallets and basically that was it.”

The rise of criminality in Brazil has been well documented even before the 2016 Rio Olympics had started, and in a way, this wasn’t as shocking as it is mysterious now when the news first broke out.

Now, the inconsistency of their report seems to be glaring enough for the justice dept. to put their travel on hold, but Ryan Lochte has seemingly fleeted his way back to the U.S. and Jimmy Feigen’s whereabouts are suddenly unknown after checking in his flight via online.

The driver of the taxi the group had taken en route the party has now disappeared too, and a video camera reveals that not only did the group appear to be having fun at the time they reported the robbery, but also the items they declared stolen were said to be in their possession.

Another report puts the situation under stranger light as a report by ABC News says one of the swimmers broke down the door to the bathroom of a gas station and fought with a security guard.

The puzzle seems hard to break with minimal evidence gathered at the moment, and their team captain Michael Phelps has maintained that he has no knowledge of the incident whatsoever.

If Ryan Lochte and the group are lying, what could be their motives? If this is all a fabrication, has it been crafted merely out of fun, to catch attention, or spoil Rio’s image?

If this is all a joke, then it isn’t the first time that Lochte, who compares himself to a rockstar with his lame “Jeah” catchphrase has been described as America’s sexiest douchebag even by his own teammates, and now possibly by the whole of Brazil and more.

If proven to be a false report they could all be sentenced to jail of up to 6 months or a fine, added to it would be ensuing charges for the incident at the gas station if proven to be true, yet Lochte and the group is now beyond Brazil’s jurisdiction, save for Feigen.
