Alfonso Soriano blasts two more home runs,Yankees beat Angels 11-3
The New York Yankees defeated the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 11-3 on Wednesday night.
According to MLB.com, Yankees outfielder Alfonso Soriano hit two home runs and drove in seven runs to lead the Yankees offense past Angels ace Jared Weaver.
Soriano hit a grand slam off Weaver in the first inning and then followed with a two-run double in his second at bat. In his third at bat, he hit a solo shot off Weaver. Over the past two games, Soriano has four home runs and 13 RBIs.
According to the New York Daily News,Soriano set a career high with seven RBIs, breaking his record of six which he set the night before when he hit two home runs and drove in six runs in the Yankees’ win on Tuesday.
Soriano became the third player to drive in at least six runs in consecutive games. The others were the Rangers’ Rusty Greer in 1997 and the Brewers’ Geoff Jenkins in 2001.
The outfielder, who was acquired from the Chicago Cubs in July, has 24 home runs on the season and 77 runs batted in.
