Bench helps Spurs past Rockets in easy win
On Friday, San Antonio Spurs’ bench stepped up big in an easy win over the Houston Rockets. The final score was 114-92.
With a combination of pick and roll and inside-out culture strategy, the Spurs has one of the best benches in the league.
Against the Rockets, the Spurs’ bench scored 59 points in total.
The three players that stood out from the bench were guard Manu Ginobli with 12 points, Nando De Colo with seven points and five assists, Tiago Splitter for 15 points, and 12 points from Patty Mills, according to Spurs Nation.
During an interview with Spurs’ head coach Gregg Popovich told SB Nation Pounding the Rock, “Those guys have been playing well for us all year. Nando just started getting a lot of time in the last three or four games. Every game is different. You don’t know what’s going to happen.”
In terms of starters, Tim Duncan scored 12 points and 12 rebounds while Tony Parker scored 17 points and seven assists.
On the other end of the floor, Rockets’ James Harden led his team with 29 points but failed to score in the fourth quarter.
