Talks of a Floyd Mayweather comeback started the very day the defensive genius announced his retirement, following his lopsided victory over Andre Berto, and a convincing win over Manny Pacquiao before that.
He retired undefeated, tied with the legendary Rocky Marciano at 49-0.
Why stop now, just one fight shy of overcoming that record?
Somehow one feels something isn’t right, or, at least that so much can still be fulfilled.
It’s safe to say that fans and boxing analysts alike never bought the notion of Floyd Mayweather retiring from boxing. There’s just so much potential still looking forward, and so much money on the table for boxing’s PPV superstar.
According to a report by Boxing News & Views, “Money,” Mayweather has been spotted training hard in the gym.
He’s punishing himself inside the gym again, surrounded by his crew, and looking ripped. From the looks of it, the former P4P king seems to be preparing for an upcoming fight.
Although Floyd Mayweather’s never really bulked up in between fights, and unlike most boxers, he always takes care of his body and keeps a healthy lifestyle it seems this isn’t just an ordinary stay-in-shape exercise.
Talks about a comeback fight have heightened once more following his training.
Let’s talk about potential comeback matchups.
Could a Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao rematch be in the making?
Manny Pacquiao is scheduled to fight Jessie Vargas this coming November 5, but rumors circulate that this matchup is a mere stepping stone to Pacquiao vs. Mayweather 2. A fight of this magnitude may only be materialized early next year if both parties are willing.
Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor?
The UFC’s welter champ has stated his willingness to fight Floyd under boxing rules and after McGregor vs. Diaz 2 at the UFC 202 the Irish fighter has hinted competing outside the MMA.
The possibility of this matchup, as ridiculous as it sounded at first, seems to be closing to fruition.
Floyd Mayweather vs GGG?
Although Mayweather has made it clear that Gennady Golovkin would be relatively easy for him to beat, their size disparity could be a huge obstacle to overcome.
Stay tuned for updates.
