‘Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare’ Release Date, News & Update: ‘Game Of Thrones’ Star Kit Harington is now the bad guy in the new Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

Activision is continuing its tradition of bringing in big Hollywood actors to play the villain in its single-player campaigns, and their latest guest is Kit Harington of the HBO’s Game of Thrones.

According to Parent Herald, Harington will be teaming up with “Snatch” director Guy Ritchie in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Ritchie is not new to working with Infinity Ward, the Snatch director has previously worked on Call of Duty: Black Ops II where he helped with the live-action for the game. Kit Harington, who played the character Jon Snow on HBO’s widely popular fantasy drama TV series Game of Thrones, will take the new villain role in Activision and Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

Reports suggest that Infinity Ward studio boss David Stohl has called director Guy Ritchie a “friend of the franchise” and considers the “Sherlock Holmes” director’s return a happy reunion. Stohl has also credited the director for bringing the Kit Harington’s villain to life.

The new campaign takes Call of Duty into a distant future when a human space colony returns to Planet Earth to wage a war. The Game of Thrones’ Jon Snow  will represent  an evil group known as the Settlement Defense Front when Infinite Warfare launches on November 4, 2016 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Harington’s main role will be focused on destroying the Earth in the game. It will be a far cry from the underdog heroism Kit Harington’s fans are associated with.

Harington is the latest on the long list of major Hollywood actors who previously starred in the Call of Duty series, which includes Gary Oldman, Kiefer Sutherland, Idris Elba, and Jason Statham. But nothing comes close to Kevin Spacey, who took on the role of the big bad in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and was the star of the marketing push for the 2014 shooter.

Call of Duty is a first-person shooter video game franchise and one of the biggest entertainment properties in the world with more $15 billion in worldwide sales. The game series started on PC and later expanded and moved to other gaming consoles.

“Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare” is scheduled for release on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 4.
