Captain Marvel: Oscar winner Brie Larson in advanced talks to play Captain Marvel

Rumors are rife on the web that Brie Larson is in advanced talks about playing the role, Captain Marvel. Variety is reporting that Larson, who just won Best Actress for the film “Room”, is in advanced talks to play Captain Marvel, one of the most popular female superheroes.

Right now, it still unknown where things stand in negotiations, but sources familiar with the matter have told entertainment site Variety that the Oscar-winning actress is their top choice, and that Larson is already leaning toward playing the said role.

Marvel offered no details about the said talks and upcoming role. Not much information is known about the newest superhero, questions about its script and director remain unanswered.

However, Marvel had always planned to have an actress lined up early, with the idea of possibly picking her for a particular role in one of its upcoming films before Captain Marvel works started

The 26-year-old American actress has built an impressive career as an acclaimed television actress, rising feature film star, and emerging recording artist. Larson’s first major breakthrough came in the independent drama Short Term 12, where she truly distinguished herself as a powerhouse lead.

In addition, she also starred in the 2004 films 13 Going on 30 and Sleepover. She also played supporting roles in the movies 21 Jump Street (2012), Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010), and Greenberg (2010). And more recently with another blockbuster film Kong: Skull Island.

Captain Marvel is the name of several fictional superheroes appearing in American comic books and has been one of the most-discussed roles in some time. Not just because she’s a great character in the Marvel Universe, but because she’ll be the first female Marvel superhero to have a solo movie.

Film producers and Fans have tossed dozens of names for the said role, and now a true newcomer has emerged: Oscar winner Brie Larson.

Written by Meg LeFauve and Nicole Perlman, the Captain Marvel film is scheduled for release in March 2019, featuring Carol Denvers in the moniker.
