College football pre-season rankings – #12 TCU
At number 12 on the pre-season top 25 list is TCU Horned Frogs, who are moving into year two in the Big 12 conference.
Even in their first season in the Big 12 TCU was considered one of the top tier teams and should be again this season.
According to nationalchamps.net, the Horned Frogs will return seven starters on offense along with a very interesting situation at quarterback. Last season the Frogs played many freshman players and among them was Trevone Boykin who replaced Casey Paschall.
Boykin entered and played very well in year one of the new conference and left head coach Gary Patterson with a quarterback competition with Pachall returned to the team after his suspension was complete. For most two quarterbacks is too many but in Fort Worth Texas they certainly aren’t complaining.
Offense should be a strength for TCU in 2013 and with the majority of the offensive line returning as well the Horned Frogs will be among the top of the Big 12 this season.
Defense is also a heavy strength for TCU and could be even better then last season’s team, which finished number 16 in the nation for total defense as per the NCAA. Returning 10 starters from last years team could make TCU the best defense in the Big 12 and will make them even more of a favorite in 2013.
If the Horned Frogs can get past Oklahoma, OSU and Texas we could see TCU in another BCS bowl this season.
