College football pre-season rankings – #15 Ole Miss
Rounding out the top 15 is the Ole Miss Rebels, which may surprise some but, rest assured, things in Oxford are getting better each day.
Last season the Rebels struggled through an extremely tough SEC, but in 2013 Ole Miss could be among those top teams.
According to Nationalchamps.net, nine offensive starters will return, which could be a force to be reckoned with this season. Quarterback Bo Wallace is in his junior year in Oxford and should be fun to watch with nearly the entire offensive line returning along with all of his receivers.
Offense could be one of the Rebels many strengths this season and will have the depth to compete with the best each week in and out of the SEC.
On paper Ole Miss also appears to be among the top of the defensive lists as well, returning all eleven from 2012.
Among these will be Robert Nkemdiche who is being touted as another possible candidate for the best defensive players in the country. The freshman is even drawing comparisons to South Carolinas Jadeveon Clowney.
With all the starters returning to the team in 2013 on defense and an experienced offensive ready for another year in the SEC, Ole Miss could be headed to the top of the national polls by the end of the season.
Another positive note for Ole Miss is the recruiting process, which, according to Yahoo Sports, is currently sitting within the top 10. Only 3 SEC teams sit in front of the Rebels giving fans even more to be excited about in the future.
A tough schedule awaits the Ole Miss Rebels. However, don’t be surprised if we see this team have a breakout season and become one of the elite in the SEC.
