Danica Patrick reacts to Kyle Petty’s criticism

Danica Patrick had something to say about the criticism and the negative comments Kyle Petty made about her.

NASCAR.com reported that Petty saw Patrick with talent but not enough to make her a professional racer. “Danica has been the perfect example of somebody who can qualify better than what she runs,” he said. “She can go fast, but she can’t race.”

Patrick wasn’t hindered by the negativity that Petty portrayed on her.

“I just think that it’s funny how [Petty] said that I could qualify but I can’t race, because those of you that actually watch what I do know that I can’t qualify for crap,” she said on a NASCAR Race Hub broadcast, included in a NBC Sports report.

Her average for the season’s first 16 events comes out to 32.0 and her average finishing position is 25.8, according to NASCAR.com’s report.

“At the end of the day, you just get over that kind of stuff and all you can do is trust that you’re doing a good job and that’s all that matters and the people around you believe you,” she said.
