Derrick Rose says he is ‘far away’ from a return
Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose is not taking any chances when it comes to his ACL injury and a return to the court anytime soon is remote.
In his first extensive interview since the beginning of the current NBA season Rose told the USA Today he does not have an exact date he will return but he will not come back until he is “110 percent.” He added that he feels like right now he is in the high 80s but still “far away” from playing again.
The ACL injury happened to Rose on April 28 during the first game of his team’s opening-round playoff series with the Philadelphia 76ers.
He then had surgery on May 12 to repair the ligament and was predicted to rehab for the next eight to 12 months, according to ESPN.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Bulls coach Thom Thibodeau was not surprised by Rose’s comments about waiting until he is ready. He agreed that his player’s health in the high 80s.
