It was the best of British music at X Factor’s season finale. But a grand surprise came from Adele herself who debuted a new and chic haircut on the show.

The pop sensation who previously teased her newest album with a 30 second commercial during the reality series left fans astounded and happy with her pop vocals and short bob haircut during her performance on Sunday night’s episode.

The cut, which is several inches shorter than what she has been lately sporting has been well received on social media.

Looking absolutely beautiful in a custom-made embellished black dress from Burberry with her blonde bob, Adele looked every bit of the diva. Her new haircut seems to perfectly frame her already beautiful facial features.

The 27-year-old singer performed a pitch-perfect rendition of her number 1 track Hello from her record breaking album 25 released last month. The new songs are inspired in part by her longtime boyfriend and young son.

Adele’s new haircut is sure to inspire other women to chop off their tresses as her perfectly executed eyeliner has.

Meanwhile, after her performance on the show, she told the audience, “That was amazing! I’ve honestly been waiting half my life to be here. I’m so excited to be here. I wanted to burst out laughing the whole laugh.”

“You feel so close. I couldn’t do that again, I couldn’t look [the judges] in the eyes.”

On asking about her favourite contestant, she told the audience: “Lauren was my favourite, when she said she couldn’t afford to buy new knickers. I thought she was great.”

Adele also advised the contestants saying, “Obviously the judges are very important, but always trust your own instinct,” proving again that she is an ideal in the true sense.

Apart from Adele, the season finale also saw performances by Coldplay who performed Adventure of a Lifetime from their new album A Head Full of Dreams and X-Factor alumni One Direction who sang History and their latest single track Infinity.
