Anthony Kiedis Health Update: Red Hot Chili Peppers front man suffers from intestinal flu, expected to be back on their next concert

Red Hot Chilli Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis was hospitalized after suffering from ‘extreme stomach pain’ that led them to cancel their concert on May 17th.

According to the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ website, Kiedis suffered from intestinal flu and will be expected to make a full recovery soon.

”Due to Anthony Kiedis’ hospitalization from complications from the intestinal flu on Saturday evening, the Red Hot Chili Peppers regretfully must postpone their upcoming concert for iHeart Radio on May 17th. They would like to extend their gratitude to the fans for the outpouring of good wishes. Anthony is expected to make a full recovery soon.”

After hearing what happened to Anthony Kiedis, fans all over the world expressed their supports and well wishes for the Red Hot Chili Peppers front man. Though there have been no updates yet about his condition, it seems like Kiedis is going better and they are expected to have their scheduled concert soon.

It was not the first time that Kiedis suffered to an illness. According to the New York Daily News, Anthony Kiedis had a brush with death in 2008 when he nearly went into organ failure while battling kidney disease.

“Anthony’s health was pretty bleak,” a friend told the Daily News in 2008. “Organ failure was a possibility. There was a talk of how to get him on a transplant list, to cover all the bases, but that opened up a whole new can of worms because people with histories of drug and alcohol abuse are less likely to receive the organs they need.”

Luckily, Kiedis underwent a treatment and recovered.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers is expected to have their next concert on May 23 at Rock on the Range in Columbus, Ohio. After that, they will be having another concert in Napa Valley, California and spend the month of June and July touring in Europe. The band will be returning to the United States for the Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago on July 30. They will be heading back overseas in late August and other schedules will continue until mid-October.

Their 11th studio album entitled ‘The Getaway’ will be released on July 17. Their first single “Dark Necessities” can be heard over at Diffuser.
