TV reporters can have their own share of nightmare just like Reshmin Chowdhury had.
The BT reporter had to go through the nightmare of fluffing her lines on live TV during the channel’s Champions League coverage last night.
The 37-year-old was at the Nou Camp for Barcelona’s win over Roma and was previewing the game from the sideline.
But just a short while into her report, Chowdhury fluffed one of her lines before forgetting she was live on BT. Quite scary, isn’t it?
She started saying: “Barcelona are just a point away from the knock-out stages of this competition as they host Roma tonight and this is a cub, club very much… Oh God what is wrong me tonight?”
The reporter then quickly signaled the cameraman for another take without realising that it was already being broadcasted globally.
But to her credit, she carried on and successfully provided BT Sport viewers with a full pitch-side preview.
Chowdhury is also a presenter on BBC Sports News and has been pictured with footballing stars David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo thanks to her top job.
Meanwhile, Chowdhury was able to watch a Barcelona masterclass on Tuesday as they thrashed Roma 6-1.
Doubles from Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi, along with strikes from Gerard Pique and Adriano settled the clash for Luis Enrique’s side.
Born and brought up in London, England, Chowdhury is of Bangladeshi origin.
In 2005, she joined ITN as news assistant and producer before moving to BBC London, BBC News and Bloomberg Television. In 2008, she joined the Real Madrid TV as a presenter and reporter and spent two seasons with them. She was also the first journalist to interview Cristiano Ronaldo after his record signing deal with Real Madrid. In 2010, she joined the BBC London sports team. She works as the sports presenter for the BBC News Channel in the UK and BBC World and is also the BT Sport team’s presenter of their nightly news round-up show SportsHUB Late.
With so many credentials to her credit, let’s just hope that this incident is not the end of her career.
