Chris Evans was asked during a panel in the Wizard World Philadelphia about Brie Larson taking the role of Captain Marvel, and Chris expressed his enthusiasm over the topic, saying ” I just heard about that. I really hope that happens! I love Brie Larson.”

Evans and Larson once worked together in 2009 film “Scott Pilgrim vs The World,” where both of them played as antagonists, with Brie Larson as Envy Adams, and Chris Evans as one of the protagonist’s Evil Exes, Lucas Lee.

Evans added that he thinks Brie Larson is “phenomenal” and he is hoping that she’d take on the role.

MTV has spoken with Larson during her promotion days of her award-winning movie “Room” about fans wanting her to play as Captain Marvel, and Larson appeared to be confused between Captain America and Captain Marvel, saying she’d be down to play as Chris Evans before remembering that Chris Evans is Captain America and Captain Marvel is a new superhero.

However, Larson showed her appreciation over the fans’ wish for her to play the role, saying “I guess I gotta start reading the comic book.”
