Criminal Minds Season 12 spoilers revealed intense scenes to happen in the series. However, the show premieres without Thomas Gibson since the network fired him after an altercation during filming.
Known as one of the lead actors in the American series, Thomas Gibson, 54, who played as Aaron “Hotch” Hotchner, left before the show premieres on Wednesday. There were several allegations and versions of the story heard. But, lately, the 54-year-old actor and director revealed that the network dismissed him after the event.
He told People about the story in response to a series of accusations. Gibson said that he merely wanted to approach the writer and co-executive producer Virgil Williams about a certain line that appeared inconsistent and irrelevant to the earlier lines. The writer refused to listen to Gibson and insisted it is unchangeable.
“I feel like it took years to make a good reputation and a minute to damage it. We were shooting a scene late one night when I went to Virgil and told him there was a line that I thought contradicted an earlier line. He said, ‘Sorry, it’s necessary, and I absolutely have to have it,” he said.
According to the same source, the initial decision of CBS Television Studios and ABC Studios for Gibson was to give him a two-week suspension. Eventually, a bigger verdict made that overruled the first choice, which was to dismiss the actor from the series for good.
Consequently, the actor felt bad about the incident. However, he knew he can’t do anything about it. Variety mentioned that Gibson considered taking part in comedy, theater, directing or producing films instead.
Although many reports appeared that there are possibilities for his return, neither Gibson nor the network did not confirm anything in the public, except that the dismissal is final and irrevocable.
In the meantime, the fans can anticipate that “Hotch” will only appear in the first two scenes and he’ll disappear. Criminal Minds Season 12 premieres on September 28, Wednesday and will air every Wednesday on CBS.
