When Barry Allen went back in time to save his own mother he distracted the timeline and tried to fix what he had done. Things went worse and in The Flash Season 3, we will see lots of crossover from Superman, Super Girl, Dr. Caitlin Snow’s mother to Oliver Queen of “Arrow.”
There has been no word regarding how Season 3 will play out but one thing is certain, and that is The Flash has been picked up by The CW in March. Nothing official has been reported yet regarding the release of the show. However, there has been some spoiler leaks which include the speculations of a crossover every week, revealing the big problem created by Barry Allen (Grant Gustin). CinemaBlend reports that Season 3 of the show will follow the “Flashpoint” version of the comics, wherein Dr. Snow’s mother will be revealed. It is not known whether the story of Batman being affected by Allen’s disruption will be included in the upcoming season.
“Personally, I’m hoping that Caitlin’s mom in Season 3 doesn’t only show up because Barry changed history. Caitlin didn’t have a whole lot to do in Season 2 that didn’t revolve around the past, present, or potential future love interest; expansion on her life before Team Flash could flesh her out nicely,” Laura Hurley writes.
Flash executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told EW that Season 3 will probably introduce a major character and all hands point to Dr. Caitlin Snow’s mother, who was only mentioned once between her and her alter ego villain character “Killer Frost.”
“We haven’t met Caitlin’s mother yet, so we got a little talk between the two women, which is something that will probably play out in Season 3,” Kreisberg said.
So how did Superman and Super Girl come into the picture for the upcoming season? Remember the disrupted timeline caused by Allen? When the whole thing came down, Kal-El’s spaceship would crash down in Metropolis instead of Kansas and IGN reports that he then becomes a government test subject. It will also see Kara Zor-El a.k.a. Super Girl in the mix of things.
Barry’s disruption of the timeline will have its pros and cons. However, the majority of them will tilt on the con’s side and could go on to explain the previous crossovers between The Flash, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow characters.
The release date of The Flash Season 3 has not been officially declared yet, but rumors suggest that it will get released later this year or early next year.
