With that being said, the latest season six Game of Thrones teaser has given fans something to rejoice about as it hints at the possible return of Jon Snow played by Kit Harington.

The teaser shows the Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch standing, before quickly showing what appears to be his bleeding corpse from season five’s finale.

Meanwhile, a voiceover by the Three Eyed Raven (Isaac William Hempstead) can be heard saying, “The past is already written. The ink is dropping.”

Jon Snow is then shown standing in his Lord Commander garb with his long hair blowing in the wind as he stares ahead, looking worried.

“We watch. We listen, and we remember,” the voiceover says, along with the shots of the fallen leader.

However, with the Three Eyed Raven’s words “the ink is dry” the video soon catches pace and it cuts to a shot of Jon being brutally stabbed, taking us back to the devastating season five finale.

The teaser then continues on to flashbacks of Ned (Sean Bean), Catelyn (Michelle Fairley), and Robb Stark’s (Richard Madden) death scenes, as well as to the scene wherein Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) goes blind.

One of the few remaining Starks – Sansa (Sophie Turner) can be seen in the flashback, bringing us back to the scene where she shared a kiss with Petyr Baelish (Aidan Gillen).

Her fate was left hanging in the last season- along with Reek’s, originally Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen) – when fans last saw her jumping with Theon from the fortress to escape from Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon).

We can also catch a glimpse of Cersei’s (Lena Headey) most vulnerable moment, the horrible Walk of Shame she had to make after being shaved bald and stripped in front of an angry mob.

The White Walkers also make a quick appearance, suggesting that they are likely to make a comeback in the upcoming season. It also shows the deaths of King Joffrey Baratheon (Jack Gleeson) and Jojen Reed (Thomas Brodie-Sangster) and the scene when Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) loses his sword hand. A brief glimpse of the Mother of Dragons, Daenaerys Targaryn, is also shown before cutting back to Jon Snow lying in a pool of his own blood.

Bran Stark, who is a warg and was last seen in season three can then be heard saying, “They have no idea what’s going to happen.” The clip ends with Bran with warg eyes, and with large, bold silver letters ‘Spring’ written on it.
