Game of Thrones Season 7 spoilers hinted Daenerys Targaryen’s plan to restore King’s Landing after the character was spotted filming at the Dragonpit’s setting. In the next season, Game of Thrones fans should still anticipate sexual violence on television as an executive explained it’s already part of the story.

Reports mentioned about witnessing Daenerys Targaryen’s motive to restore the ruined King’s Landing in order to help her stable the dragons. The “Mother of Dragons” has three reasons why she felt the need to rebuild the said site for the new season– Rhaegal, Viserion and Drogon.

The biggest purpose she has in mind behind her plan of re-establishing the site was to rebuild the home of the dragons.

According to Comic Book, the Dragonpit is apparently located in Corbet Banbridge, Ireland and is the exact spot where the major landmark, King’s Landing was ruined after a riot.

Daenerys Targaryen waited for six seasons in order to regain her true strength. Hence, in Game of Thrones Season 7, fans could anticipate her strong return as a warrior in the exact place where she planned the restoration.

As a female character, a challenge of facing male dominance in the series certainly remains existent. Though she may return as a strong character, the existing patriarchal supremacy continues.

Albeit many of the viewers didn’t like the idea of exposing sexual violence towards women on television, managing director of content at Sky, Gary Davey, explained this subject won’t be taken down, The Guardian reported.

He said that exposing such matter in television is part of the story’s nature as George R. R. Martin’s masterpiece. In response to this concern, deleting the sexual violence as one of the primary themes in the series is considered nonsense. For him, it’s not only women who agonized from the prejudice but also men.

“There is also a lot of violence to men. For anybody who’s watched the show it can be a very violent show. I don’t think the violence against women is particularly highlighted. It is just part of the story. The rape happens, it’s part of the story, it was in the books,” he said.
