I don’t want to play the spoiler’s role here. However, I just want to whet the appetite of Game of Thrones fans and give them an idea of what they can expect from the newest season of the series. So here is a glimpse of what fans can look forward to in Season 6.

Game of Thrones Season 6 is based upon the unreleased sixth novel of the A Song of Ice and Fire series, The Winds of Winter. It also includes a significant amount of material from the fourth and fifth books, A Feast for Crows and A Dance With Dragons. It will run from April 24 to June 24 for 10 episodes.

As for the characters? Let us see who’s in and who’s out for Season 6? The series’ cast of characters was considerably reduced during the finale of Season 5. Expected to come back in the new season are Daenerys (Emilia Clark), Cersei (Lena Headley), Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), Sansa (Sophie Turner), Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen), Theon (Alfie Allen), Tyrion (Peter Dinklage), and Sam (John Bradley-West).

Gone will be Ser Barristan, Maester Aemon, Myranda, Stannis Baratheon, Hizdahr zo Loraq, Janos Slynt, Mance Rayder, Meryn Trant, Myrcella Baratheon, and of course, Jon Snow. Bran and Hodor makes a return next season. Old characters will also be returning but will be played by new actors. Ned Stark makes a return to the series but only in a flashback sequence and will be played by Sebastian Croft. The Three-Eyed Raven will now be played by Max Von Sydow.

Can’t wait for the new season? HBO is set to release a full trailer of the new season heading to the premiere on April 24.
