The first episode of Hawaii Five-0 Season 7 was aired on Sept. 23 and in that episode, the showrunners decided to let the fans experience a little nostalgia when they brought to life the character of the late actor, Jack Lord.
The actor, who passed away in 1998, was resurrected through a special effects called CGI. He portrayed the role of detective Steve McGarret in the original series.
According to Christian Times, Lord participated in the seventh season of the new series as a retired police office who gave some meaningful advice to the current Steve McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin). Reports say that the scene was a result of years of planning and creating.
In the original series, Lord portrayed McGarrett for a total of twelve seasons. The show ran from 1968 to 1980.
“I originally conceived of the idea – a scene between McGarrett and Jack Lord – to be the final scene in the series, but realized last year that the end was nowhere near and if I wanted to be the first to do something like this, I better commit soon,” Executive Producer, Peter M. Lenkov, said in an interview. “Thankfully, the conversation between the two men fit perfectly with the theme of season 7.”
Meanwhile, Hawaii Five-0 Season 7 episode 2 synopsis has just been released. According to Movie News Guide, the fans of the show will see the Hawaii Five-0 team working together with rogue M16 Agent Harry Langford (Chris Vance). The group are going to track down a terrorist who plans to cause nuclear reactors across Europe to meltdown.
Episode 2 will see two murdered bodies with chess pieces in their mouths.
