Johnny Depp and Amber Heard avoided a messy divorce proceedings after “The Pirates of the Caribbean” actor paid the actress $7 million for the divorce settlement.
Fans have called out the “gold digger” Amber Heard for the development but it appears the “Pineapple Express” star does not care about the money as she has plans to donate the money to charity.
Last August, Heard released a statement saying she’d be giving the money to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. As a final shot against former husband Johnny Depp, about half of the donation will go to programs that tackle “violence against women.”
“As described in the restraining order and divorce settlement, money played no role for me personally and never has, except to the extent that I could donate it to charity and, in doing so, hopefully help those less able to defend themselves,” Heard stated in an official statement.
Amber Heard has accused Johnny Depp of physical and emotional violence towards her. But the divorce settlement likely stops any more revelations about “Edward Scissorhands” actor’s violent episodes. This means that Depp paid Heard about $7M just for her to virtually shut up so as not to further damage the veteran actor’s reputation.
Johnny Depp admitted that his relationship with Amber Heard was “intensely passionate” but at times “volatile”. Johnny Depp also said that Amber Heard was not in it for the money, although some of the actor’s fans think otherwise.
