Leonardo DiCaprio Already Died Three Times? Near Death Experience Revealed

Leonardo DiCaprio is a lucky man, especially after his near death experiences.

Speaking to Wired magazine, the 41-year-old Titanic star revealed that he nearly died three times — once in a shark attack, once on a flight when the engine suddenly exploded and while skydiving his parachute refused to open mid freefall.

Leonardo graces the cover of the magazine’s January issue where he shared his experiences.

Revealing about his near-death experiences, The Wolf of Wall Street actor says, “A great white jumped into my cage when I was diving in South Africa. Half its body was in the cage, and it was snapping at me.”

“The great white took about five or six snaps an arm’s length away from my head. The guys there said that has never happened in the 30 years they’d been doing it.”

Leonardo’s second brush with death came while on a Delta commercial flight, one of the flight’s engine exploded. The pilot had to temporarily turn off the engines and make an emergency landing.

“I was in business class, and an engine blew up in front of my eyes…I was sitting there looking out at the wing, and the entire wing exploded in a fireball,” Leonardo revealed to the magazine.

“I was the only one looking out at the moment this giant turbine exploded like a comet. It was crazy.”

The Hollywood heartthrob’s third brush with death came on a skydiving expedition when the parachutes got entangled and his guide struggled to open it.

“We did another free fall for like another 5, 10 seconds. I didn’t even think about the extra chute, so I thought we were just plummeting to our death,” the Oscar-nominated star told Wired.

“The fun part was when he said, ‘You’re probably going to break your legs on the way down, because we’re going too fast now.’”

Leo added, “So after you see your whole life flash in front of your eyes- twice- he says, ‘Oh, your legs are going to get broken too.’”

Luckily, they managed to do a barrel role as they hit the ground leaving them bruised but not injured.

The actor will be starring in The Revenant which also stars British actor Tom Hardy. Leonardo plays the role of a frontiersman who is left for dead in the movie.

The movie hits screen on December 25 in US with a limited release edition and then a worldwide release on January 8.
