‘Nashville’ Season 5 to be renewed on CMT

There is hope for the musical series Nashville, after all, as CMT is reportedly working on renewing the show for a fifth season.

President of CMT Brian Philips also said that ‘Nashville’ would be a “perfect addition to our evolving line-up of big music specials, documentaries, and original series.” He added that  CMT will be treasuring the show like no other network.

Kevin Beggs, Chairman of the Lionsgate Television Group said that the fans of the show contributed a lot in bringing back the series to the small screens. The fans, who are called “Nashies,” have made the campaign to bring back the cancelled show trend on social media for days with the hashtags #BringBackNashville and #SaveNashville.

According to Variety, Lionsgate were determined to have the series bought by a new platform, and it has gained attention as four to five showing their interest to renew the series, but with CMT being the best one.

There is still no news about the official cast for season 5, and fans are worried that Hayden Panettiere  may not come back for the fifth season, as the fate of her character, Juliette Barnes, was left in a blur on the season 6 finale of the show.
