“NCIS New Orleans” Season 3 has already started but even the show’s team is puzzled why Zoe McLellan left. Rumors are swirling that pressure is mounting for McLellan to come back and bring closure to her role as Agent Meredith Brody.
In the season finale, Agent Brody came under fire with her relations to traitor and Homeland Security Agent John Russo (Ivan Sergei). Though the team managed to stop Russo, doubts still cloud Brody’s credibility. As the new season begins, it is still uncertain why Agent Brody has not surfaced.

Team leader and Special Agent Dwayne Cassius Pride (Scott Bakula) tries to explain to the team that it has been a while that Brody wanted to walked away from the team. They do not agree to such alibi and wanted Brody herself to explain to them why she left the group.
This scene draws speculations and rumors that McLellan might come back for the last time to bring closure to the team’s questions. According to FX News Call, that one reason for McLellan in leaving the show is that she was underpaid. McLellan underwent last years a nasty divorce with her estranged husband J.P. Gillain and needs to support her child, Sebastian.
Others have speculated that McLellan is juggling her time as a mother and her personal life that she could not squeeze time for the show. Another rumor is that McLellan was asking for a pay hike but the producers of the show declined to give in.
Another speculation is that McLellan’s character gained a black record in season 2’s finale that producers decided to cut her loose. But both McLellan and the show’s producer would confirm nor deny such reports.
It seems McLellan left a huge hole on the show that needs a proper explanation to bring closure. There is still no confirmation if McLellan will come back or make her appear as a guest to finally seal the deal about why she decided to leave the team.
As uncertainty still clouds McLellan’s return to the show, team Pride tries to move on as they still have more crimes to solve in New Orleans. Aside from that, the team tries to get a logical explanation about why the FBI conducts an investigation on the team.
