Recent NCIS Season 14 spoilers revealed that the American series struggled without Michael Weatherly’s character in the show. Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs’ team faced challenges earlier, especially working with the new team without Tony DiNozzo. Moreover, Wilmer Valderrama admitted about trying to fit in with the team of special agents’ way of life.
NCIS Season 14 finally premiered with a series of intense scenes earlier than expected. However, the action has just started, as Gibbs’ team made a series of tries to learn the group’s new working dynamics. Based from the latest spoilers released, the team received a new case to investigate.
According to Spoiler TV, there is a bomb plot that appeared mysterious along with a theft ring found near the dead body’s spot in FBI’s Quantico training facility. Gibb’s (Mark Harmon) team thought it was an ordinary investigation. However, they uncovered a deeper story behind the crime.
Furthermore, the new Special Agents Alex Quinn (Jennifer Esposito) and Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) revealed that they were still trying to figure out how to work with SA Gibbs and the team.
What made everything worse, both Quinn and Torres did not have a smooth working relationship due to their irreconcilable differences at work. Valderrama told TV Guide about how his character adjusted the “NCIS” way of life.
“I think he’s working really hard and being open-minded, and allowing the rest of the team to be part of his new beginning … His relationship with [Gibbs], it’s complex, because in a way, Gibbs sees a lot of himself in Nick Torres. He understands the struggle … They clash in a sense that Gibbs understands how to follow the rules and bend them when he has to, but Nick Torres would rather break the rules in order to get the bad guy,” Valderrama explained.
Moreover, the actor also revealed that a lot backstories to tell about Nick’s story. Although his character attempted to appear mysterious in the eyes of his fellow agents, the show will detail them later on.
In the meantime, Valderrama stated that the show wished to allow these characters breathe and to let their roles developed later.
NCIS Season 14 airs every Tuesday at 8pm on CBS.
