NFL Rumors: Kate Upton bares all in Instagram post, criticizes players on national anthem controversy

Kate Upton does not agree with how some NFL players are handling themselves in their protest during the pregame US national anthem. In a long post via social media, the model/actress penned a message showing her dismay at the fad started by San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

“In my opinion, the national anthem is a symbolic song about our country. It represents honoring the many brave men and women who sacrifice and have sacrificed their lives each and every single day to protect our freedom,” Upton stated on Instagram.

“Sitting or kneeling down during the national anthem is a disgrace to those people who have served and currently serve our country. Sitting down during the national anthem on September 11th is even more horrific.”

Kaepernick started doing the protest in an NFL preseason game in previous weeks. It has now caught up with other NFL players and even other sports. On the 15th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, players from the Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs were shown kneeling down or raising their fists up in protest.

“Protest all you want and use social media all you want. However, during the nearly two minutes when that song is playing, I believe everyone should put their hands on their heart and be proud of our country for we are all truly blessed,” Upton added.

Upton was clear in her post that she was not angry at the message the players were trying to send but that they should not do it during the singing, playing of the US national anthem.

“Today we are more divided then ever before. I could never imagine multiple people sitting down during the national anthem on the September 11th anniversary. The lessons of 911 should teach us that if we come together, the world can be a better and more peaceful place #neverforget,” Upton added.

Upton credited the Seattle Seahawks squad for protesting the right way. The Seahawks had their arms locked with each other during the national anthem in their game.
