It seems Iggy Azalea is now pointing fingers to shield her failing career as she put the blame on Nick Young for the delayed release of her new album.
In an interview with People, the Australian-born rapper noted that she got emotionally affected with her split with Young. Azalea stated that the split traumatized her by Young’s unfaithfulness and it affected her career as well. Young and Azalea were in a two-year relationship that had the couple engaged but soon split due to the Swaggy P’s confession of cheating behind her back.
The admission was on record with Young’s teammate D’Angelo Russell involved in the mess. The confession destroyed their relationship and Young’s relations with Russell as well. Later it would be revealed that Young is expecting his second child with ex-girlfriend Keonna Green.
Now, both Azalea and Young are moving on with new partners. Azalea is romantically linked with French Montana while Young has sealed the deal with Paloma Ford.
“I needed a lot of time,” Azalea said. “I mean, you wake up one morning and your fiancé is having a baby with someone else, you’re going to need some time, right?”
Azalea’s new album, titled “Digital Distortion,” was supposed to be released back in July but she decided to call it off following her split with Young. Now that she has emotionally recovered from all the hurt she went through, she plans to debut the album sometime in 2017.
Azalea hinted that songs in her new album will show her being single again. She noted that she is working on sexy songs and stuff about being single. Azalea added that she will try to write as many songs for the album to prove that she is now on the right track.
“I obviously didn’t write that on my [original] album because when I wrote it I was about to get married,” Azalea added. “I don’t want to go and promote my album and get asked about my relationship that has just crumbled.”
Aside from getting cozy with Montana, Azalea noted that horseback riding has given her a peace of mind. She explained that it helps her calm down, take control of her life again, and makes her think of songs that could be included on her upcoming album.
Truly Azalea has moved on from Young and set to release her album sometime in Jan. of next year. Azalea is just doing the finishing touches on the album which she assures fans will be a blast.
