“In sickness and in health.”
Estranged couple Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian have decided to call off their divorce and stay married, at least for now, as the former NBA star continues on his road to recovery a couple of weeks after he was found unconscious at a Nevada brothel.
Odom, still recovering at a Los Angeles hospital after he was found unconscious at a Nevada brothel this month, and Kardashian actually filed divorce paperwork at a Los Angeles Superior Court over the summer, but the documents sat in the court since then and has never been signed by a judge.
Laura Wasser, the lawyer of the reality TV star, filed the petition Wednesday to dismiss Kardashian’s petition for divorce she filed in December 2013.
The petition does not cite a reason for the change, but it shows Odom signing off on dismissing the proceedings last Tuesday.
Kardashian rushed to Odom’s side since he was brought to the Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas after being found unresponsive and in critical condition at the Love Ranch brothel in Crystal, Nevada.
The former NBA Sixth Man of the Year has regained consciousness last Friday and was airlifted to Los Angeles on Monday.
Being the former pro baller’s wife, Kardashian is the one making decisions for Odom’s medical care.
Last Tuesday, Kardashian made her first public statement on her website, extending her gratitude to the doctors and well-wishers for their outpouring of support to her husband.
“This past week has been incredibly difficult,” Kardashian expressed. “You can never be prepared for an experience like this, but without the outpouring of love and endless prayers that Lamar has received and the strength I was given from loved ones, it would have been difficult to endure.”
Test results from blood samples obtained through a warrant are still pending, and authorities have not ruled out the possibility of taking action against the brothel or Odom.
