Prison Break was taken off the air in 2009 after four seasons, but the widely popular TV show is about to make a strong comeback with Season 5.
Prison Break was originally turned down by Fox network in 2003, which was concerned about the long-term prospects of such a series. The show returned to TV screen in 2004, when Fox decided to back production.
The first season, which received positive reviews and good ratings, was originally planned for a 13-epsiode run only but was extended to include 9 more extra episodes due to its growing popularity and good ratings.
The American drama series has received nominations for several industry awards. Prison Break has won the 2006 People’s Choice Award for favorite New TV Drama and has received a nomination for the 2005 Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series Drama.
Created by Paul Scheuring and produced 20th Century Fox Television, the series centers around two brothers (Michael Scofield and Lincoln Burrows), in which one brother has been sentenced to death for a crime he did not commit and the other one devises a plan to help his broth escape prison and clear his name.
Prison Break Season 4 features Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell reprising their roles as well as the return of series creator Paul Scheuring. The major storyline for the Season 4 is about Michael Scofield, which played by Wentworth Miller, risked his life to break Sara Tancredi (played by Sarah Wayne Callies) and his brother Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) out of prison and go free.
However, as Michael being killed in the series finale, Fox CEO Dana Walden said that the series will provide “a logical and believable explanation to why the characters are alive and still moving around the world”, which also means that the crowd might expect some twisted story in the finale.
A trailer posted recently, shows Scofield’s son asking Tancredi about his father’s whereabout. Unfortunately, the trailer doesn’t explain how Scofield survived both his diseases and near-death experience, but it does make it clear that quest for those answers will be what consumes the plot of Season 5.
“He was like a storm appearing suddenly out of a clear blue sky, and then disappear suddenly,” she told her son of his father, via the Design and Trend.
Her son then replies, “Storms…they can come back, can’t they?”
In one particular scene shows Sara and Michael’s brother Lincoln Burrows working together to track him down after getting hold of proof that he might be alive, according to TVLine.
According to Design and Trend, Sara and Lincoln will apparently engineer Prison Break’s biggest escape ever, which will pull back T-Bag (Robert Knepper), C-Note (Rockmond Dunbar) and Sucre (Amaury Nolasco) into the action as well. The massive manhunt leads Lincoln to Morocco, where he finds his brother Michael in a prison. Reports said that Lincoln tries to help his brother escape the prison. However, it seems that Michael doesn’t want to do it alone. He also wants to take a few of his fellow inmates with him as well.
Not much information is known about the upcoming Season 5. The trailer also won’t reveal why Michael was placed in that particular prison in the first place.
