Prison Break Season 5 release date was already slated in 2017. Months before the show’s release, Dominic Purcell has already revealed about the future episodes’ more political feel. He said that dealing ISIS and ISIL made the “grounded” feeling in the upcoming episodes.
As soon as the Prison Break Season 5 new trailer was released, it created intrigue among fans as it showed intense scenes they should not miss. Based from the clip, it showed Michael Scofield being imprisoned in Yemeni prison.
At the same time, his brother and partner, Lincoln Burrows, found him in the same location after long search. When he found out about Michael’s survival, he immediately told Michael’s wife, Sara, about it. He told everything except his Michael’s involvement with ISIL.
Initially, she didn’t believe Lincoln’s explanation. She already accepted the fact about Michael’s death due to illness. Towards the end of the short trailer, Lincoln showed her a photo as his evidence showing Michael survived after brain tumor surgery.
Among the heavy scenes noticed, it was Michael’s direct participation with one of the most dangerous terrorist groups in the world created much curiosity.
Actor Dominic Purcell, who played Lincoln Burrows, explained about how the show’s “heavily grounded” feeling rooted to these terrorists groups. In addition to that, ISIL and ISIS were the focal political components of Prison Break Season 5, Digital Spy reported.
“I think this version is [worldlier], it’s heavy sh*t. The first season was heavy, but this is real heavy sh*t, because we’re dealing with ISIS, we’re dealing with ISIL. And on top of that, as the background, I’m trying to get my brother out of a Yemen prison – one of the worst prisons in the world,” Purcell stated.
Hence, Prison Break Season 5 certainly brings higher level of thrill all throughout the new season. Scheduled to release in 2017, fans could expect more of Michael and Lincoln dealing with these terrorist groups in a few months before its premiere.
