Star Wars 8 release date is more than a year away. However, the eighth episode of the famous franchise has already become one of the most anticipated movies of all time. Warwick Davis, who will return in the upcoming movie playing the character Wicket the Ewok has revealed some major plot pointers on Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamil), Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and Rey (Daisy Ridley).
The 46-year-old actor from Epsom, United Kingdom has said that Star Wars 8 will contain a cliffhanger ending, involving the futures of the three main characters of the movie, Luke Skywalker, Kylo Ren and Rey. The movie will follow the pattern of the movie’s predecessor, “The Force Awakens” and will conclude with a scene, which will only be solved when Star Wars Episode 9 releases, as reported by HNGN.com.
“Obviously we’re moving into the territory of Episode VIII very soon as well, and much like Empire Strikes Back I’m sure it’s going to deliver some quite impactful story moments, and it’ll leave us with some cliffhangers as well which resolve in Episode IX” Davis said, according to Attack of the Fanboy.
Star Wars 8 rumors and speculations are suggesting that the movie will continue Rey’s vision from “The Force Awakens”. The vision will revolve around how the famous Jedi Academy of Luke Skywalker failed. The scene will be shown as a flashback and Rey’s vision will explain the why and how of the event, according to Making Star Wars.
The likes of Luke Skywalker, Rey and R2-D2 will be involved in the scene. They will be surrounded by young dead bodies of Jedi’s. The movie will highlight Rey as a bystander who will witness the entire storyline in her vision, forming a perspective of the situation on her own.
It is being rumored that several young actors were hired by the Star Wars 8 casting crew to fill the roles of the young Jedi’s of the failed Jedi Academy of Luke Skywalker.
Meanwhile, in another story, it has been reported that Kylo Ren and Luke Skywalker might be working together. Ren may be playing the role of a double agent to get closer to leader Snoke and destroy the First Order forever. The theory suggests that the mission may have dragged Kylo Ren too deep into the Dark Side and this has made Luke sad, according to Mike Zeroh.
Star Wars Episode 8 is slated for release on December 15, 2017 in the United States of America (USA).
