It’s hard to deny the MVP on court these days. Stephen Curry torched his opponents with his lethal three-pointers in this regular season. Records were broken and the new ones set up. But Curry’s first kiss aimed at his “would be” wife was denied; the MVP himself revealed in an interview.
Ayesha was only Curry’s girlfriend then. And neither was Curry a MVP, just a teenager trying to win the affections of his now-wife. Was Curry a little jittery while kissing Ayesha for the first time? The MVP recalled the moment in an interview with Parents Magazine.
“I always had my eye on her, but I got a little shaken, for sure,” the Golden State Warriors’ star said.
Ayesha revealed that she wasn’t allowed to date in high school. She had to side step to evade Curry’s first attempt.
“I mean, it was friend vibes … until I dodged his first kiss,” Ayesha said. Curry admitted.
Mrs. Curry went on to describe the scene metaphorically.
“He was in mid-conversation and came flying at my face like a thief in the night,” Ayesha said. “So I was like, ‘No.’ Then I thought, ‘Oh, I didn’t know this is what was happening.'”
And when did the couple share their first kiss? Few years later in the driveway of Curry’s parents’ house, when Curry proposed Ayesha to marry him.
“The plan was to act like we were going to a family cookout. So we pulled up to the house, and I stopped in the middle of the driveway, got down on my knee, and went into my spiel,” Stephen Curry said. “Little did I know the whole family was looking out the window, videotaping the moment.”
The couple is happily married since 2011 and are proud parents of two children.
