Vampire Diaries Season 8 Latest News: Reasons why or why not Nina Dobrev will return next season

When Nina Dobrev announced last year that she will be leaving The Vampire Diaries, a lot of fans were devastated. Now that the popular vampire series is nearing its last season, many fans are wondering whether the Canadian-Bulgarian actress will grace the show with her presence. There have been rumors that she will or won’t be coming back and here are some of those reasons.

According to the Inquistr, Dobrev was confirmed to be back for the second episode of Season 8 titled, Today Will be Different. The title of the second episode, according to the report was taken from Elena Gilbert’s (Dobrev) diary which she wrote after the death of her parents.

There are also rumors that if Dobrev agrees to appear in The Vampire Diaries once again, it is most likely that she will have more screen time with Stefan (Paul Wesley) than with Damon (Ian Somerhalder). However, both actors will neither confirm nor deny whether Dobrev will return or not.

On the other hand, Headlines and Global News believe otherwise saying the actress is rather busy fulfilling other movie projects that she will not have any time for it. So far, the actress has her hands full with roles in movies, such as XXX: The Return of Xander Cage and The Final Girls.

This information came according to the report the day after Michael Trevino, who will be playing Tyler in the series, confirmed that he will be returning to the final season of the show. It has been confirmed already that Trevino will reprise his role but his role will only be recurring during Season 8. It is also reported that Tyler will have a face-off with Damon, who will appear to be mentally-imbalanced that time.

Since there is no official confirmation yet whether Dobrev will or will not return to The Vampire Diaries, fans will surely expect more updates in the coming weeks before it premieres in October.

The Vampire Diaries Season 8 will return to the small screen on Friday, October 21, at 8 p.m. ET on CW. The first episode will be “Hello, Brother.”
