X Factor’s Cheryl Fernandez-Versini’s marriage woes are far from over. There have been rumours that Cheryl and her French restaurateur husband Jean-Bernard are struggling with their marriage. And of now, Cheryl’s cousin has revealed that the couple’s marriage is suffering due to language barrier.
Tony Tweedy who grew up beside the Girls Aloud singer in Newcastle revealed to The Sun that the couple are finding it hard to communicate since Cheryl speaks little French while Jean is not well versed in English.
“The family thinks the marriage is over. When I asked if Cheryl was happy with him, they replied, ‘Put it this way, I’ll give it six months.’ That was three months ago, and look what’s happening,” Tony told The Sun.
“Cheryl can’t speak French. I’m told he speaks little English. What sort of relationship is it if she cannot speak French and he can’t speak English? They may as well have a threesome with the interpreter.”
But a source close to the singer told the publication that Cheryl has not been in contact with Tony for years.
British singer Cheryl whose hits include Can’t Speak French is still struggling to get command over the language even after 18 months of her marriage.
Just weeks before their marriage, Jean confessed that the couple teach each other their languages.
He said: “My English is better than her French. She teaches me Geordie,” reports The Sun.
The couple who tied the knot in a secret ceremony in Cannes last year had a whirlwind romance and married after just three months of dating.
Reports of their marriage going kaput were reported after Jean was seen spending the festive period in Miami and leaving Cheryl all alone in their home in UK. Unlike previous year, Jean was also noticeably absent from the set of X-Factor this year.
Mail Online reports a source saying: “It’s so odd that JB would leave Cheryl at a time when she is so exhausted after the most stressful week of her year. She’s also had to face all the talk about her marriage alone and it can’t have been easy.”
The couple were last seen together in October at Ant And Dec’s 40th birthday party in London.
However, in a rare public outburst Jean took to social media and dismissed reports of trouble in his marriage.
“Normally don’t read or comment… But the truth is that even when my dad died I put my life on the line for my wife,” he posted.
“Yes I am working like everybody else to put food on the table but my priority is my wife as this is the last person that is family.”
“This is just nonsense. What matters is family and my wife is my only one left so if she needs me I am always going to be there. My wife Cheryl is my priority nothing else.”
And yet rumours of trouble in their paradise refuses to die down.
