The latest NBA rumors with three days away from the trade deadline involves three teams, the Houston Rockets, Miami Heat and Atlanta Hawks with multiple players featured.
A Houston-based radio station reported on Monday that the three teams mentioned are discussing a possible three-way deal.
Players like the Rockets center Dwight Howard, Hawks center Al Horford and point guard Jeff Teague and Heat center Hassan Whiteside and point guard Goran Dragic as the players possibly getting to new teams by the trade deadline, which is on Thursday.
Spolane admitted that a “deal is not imminent” and one of the hold-ups in the trade is the Hawks demanding rookie forward Justise Winslow from the Heat. According to the report, Miami president Pat Riley won’t include the young forward in the deal.
In another tweet that addressed the NBA rumors, Spolane added that the Hawks want more from the Heat’s side since they are giving up two starters in Horford and Teague.
The Rockets admitted earlier in the week that they are exploring a trade for Howard, who is expected to become a free agent after the season. The Hawks also have Teague and Horford as free agents after the year and they could lose them for nothing in free agency. Whiteside from the Heat will also become a free agent.
Both the Heat and Hawks are in playoff contention in the Eastern Conference. Atlanta has 31 wins against 24 losses in fourth place while Miami has 29 wins against 24 losses in fifth place.
Meanwhile, the Rockets are out of the playoff picture in the Western Conference with 27 wins against 28 losses so far this season.
