Female fans enraged at NFL’s bag policy
Female football fans are angered after becoming aware of NFL’s new policy on bags.
The policy doesn’t allow fans to bring purses and diaper bags into the stadiums and bags also include plastic freezer bags and size restricted vinyl bags.
Baltimore Ravens and NFL blogger Syreeta Hubbard found the policy to be an act of selfishness by the league.
“It’s not realistic to say I’m not going to go to the games, or that fans are going to boycott them over it,” she told Sporting News. “But at the end of the day, we’re already spending a lot of money. I just see this as greedy. They don’t need the extra money, but there’s nothing we can do about it.”
TheFootballGirl.com manager Melissa Jacobs didn’t find it to be ideal.
“What the league considers an improvement to public safety, I consider a setback for all fans, particularly women,” she wrote on her website. “Women carry purses. By asking women to leave their purses at home, and based on the restrictions, the league is disconnecting from a fan base they are supposedly working so hard to expand.”
Many people, including USA Today writer Chris Chase, don’t see the ban lasting for a long time, according to The Inquisitr.
Relating to fans’ negative comments on the policy, NFL officials have been responding to their concerns, trying to clarify and help them understand what is and what isn’t allowed into the stadium, the Inquisitr reported.
