The Flash Season 3 Spoilers: Flashpoint storyline will not last a full season, says Grant Gustin

The Flash season 3 will be focusing on the “Flashpoint” plot based on the comics’ story arc of the same name. In a recent interview, The Flash star Grant Gustin revealed that the “Flashpoint” storyline will not last the whole season.

“I think we can state… ‘Flashpoint’ does not last all season long. But there are permanent ramifications,” Gustin told IMDB at the San Diego Comic-Con, via FanSided.

The trailer of The Flash season 3 showed that Barry was raised by both of his parents but just like in the comics, The Flash will have to let the real timeline exist where his mom is dead. ‘Flashpoint’ will also have an effect on the entire Arrowverse.

On the other hand, Kevin Smith, who will direct an episode in season 3, revealed that Barry will try to renew his relationship with Iris in the new timeline. He also explained why Barry turned down Iris’ love in the season 2 finale.

“I think that sitting on that porch, having just defeated Zoom, Iris says to Barry what he’s always wanted to hear, and he feels empty inside,” Smith said, as transcribed by Screen Rant.

“As selfish as it was that Barry wanted his parents, I think it’s more about ‘these two speedsters took away their life because of me, and they deserve to have a chance at life. I can’t do this, I need to give them that chance,’” he added.
