Codemasters has officially announced F1 2016, the official video game of the 2016 FIA Formula One World Championship.
According to the game developers, this latest upgrades of the F1 game will include “the most immersive career mode ever featured in the franchise,” giving gamers their first look at the next installment in the F1 racing series.
The career mode, which spans 10 seasons and was dropped from the series for its debut on the latest generation PS4 and Xbox One consoles last year, allows players to start at any team and features the ability to develop a car, giving players the option to develop their favorite F1 team into a championship contender.
Players will also be able to create their own character in the game, including choosing their favorite F1 team, helmet designs, and even race number. They can also be able to interact with F1 engineers.
In addition, the developer will also be re-introducing the iconic Safety Car and Virtual Safety Car function that is often used on race weekends. The game will also feature the challenging new street circuit set in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Codemasters Principal Game Designer Lee Mather said in a statement, via the Codemasters:
“F1 2016 is a massive step forward for the franchise. The new career mode sits at the heart of the game and allows gamers to create their own legend over a career that can span for up to a massive ten seasons.”
Reports suggest that their might be more new additions to the game as Game designer Mather hinted at “a number of other unannounced improvements” which means that F1 2016 will have more new features than any other year of the franchise and will be released on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
Codemasters also revealed that it will introduce a time of day editor features, which allows players to dramatically customize the visual look of a race.
For players looking for more action-packed experience, a day one Limited Edition version of the game has been made available, though Codemasters haven’t said what the exclusive “Career Booster” DLC pack will include.
F1 2016 will be made available for PS4, Xbox and Windows PC (DVD and via Steam ). No words yet about its official release date, but Codemasters said that the game might be released this summer.
