Bungie reveals some of the latest edition of its upcoming Destiny: Rise of Iron expansion in a live-stream event, revealing to the world what players can expect in Rise of Iron expansion.
The game developer has already started its marketing efforts for Rise of Iron, and yesterday took Destiny fans on a virtual tour of the new and improved Cosmodrome via Twitch’s stream.
Bungie’s community manager David Dague hosted the live stream event along with Destiny Game Director Christopher Barrett and Executive Producer Scott Taylor. The team also discussed the upcoming additional content that is set to arrive later this year.
During the stream, the players have immediately noticed that the area has been plunged into the depths of winter, with snow and ice covering just about every surface. This new environment was part of the Norse influence on the Rise of Iron expansion, which was summarized on the live stream to a core trio of elements; snow, axes, and beards.
Bungie also introduced a new space for Destiny players called “The Plaguelands,” set high on Felwinter Peak, one of the several new locations on Earth.
In addition to the new social space, Bungie also revealed some of the new armor in the game, as well as a new, temporary “relic” weapon like the two-handed, flaming spear-type weapon.
Destiny: Rise of Iron is the fourth major expansion for Bungie-developed first-person shooter video game, Destiny. The Rise of Iron expansion is scheduled to be released on September 20, 2016. The new expansion will revolve around the Fallen enemy race as they have breached the Wall that surrounds the Earth’s last safe city, and will add content to the game, including a new campaign, new missions, weaponry, a new social space, and a new raid.
But unlike the previous three expansions, which were all available on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, the Rise of Iron expansion will only be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Destiny: Rise of Iron is set for release on September 20 for PS4 and Xbox One.
