News about the Rise of the Tomb Raider PS4 release have been keeping PS4 gamers afloat, but for all of the hype and buzz surrounding the PS4 release date, game publisher Square Enix remained tight-lipped about the release date. At this time, no one knows what Square Enix’s next move is.
Rise of the Tomb Raider on PS4 are starting to look less hopeful by the day and PS4 gamers who were expecting a release date announcement at the recently held Electronic Entertainment Expo were ultimately left them hanging and very disappointed.
Another contributing factor to the gamers’ E3 2016 disappointment are those earlier reports before the event that suggested that a Rise of the Tomb Raider PS4 release date announcement will be made at the Electronic Entertainment Expo.
In an earlier report by Movie News Guide, Square Enix was quoted in posting, “We’ve got some other exciting demos lined up on the show floor, but we’ll save those updates for our Road to E3 Part 2 blog, which will feature some exciting Tomb Raider news and details on a few new games that our team has been hard at work on.”
Right now, it still unclear why the news of additional platforms was kept secret for nearly one year after the announcement of timed exclusivity with Microsoft platform, but still months before the game’s November release.
GameRant said that gamers were confused as to why Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix chose Microsoft over Sony, despite Sony’s successful PS4 console sales during that time. However, Crystal Dynamics studio head Darrell Gallagher made a good explanation on this and tried to address the confusion issues. Gallagher also added that the PS4 version will come during the Holiday season this year, placing the PS4 players more than a year behind their Xbox counterparts.
With all the delay, it won’t be a big surprise for everyone if gamers will lose the interest of the release date. As Segment Next wrote earlier, “What’s more, the game has also been released on the PC platform since as long ago as January 28, 2016, clearly standing the PS4 version alone. And the whole list of games PS4 users are now eyeing has changed in this time.”
Bottom line here, the Rise of the Tomb Raider has clearly left the interest of a lot of people in the PS4 community. It also placed Square Enix in a serious trouble.
