Rise of the Tomb Raider PS4: PS4 version coming, release date revealed

It’s the buzz of the gaming world, Square Enix’s Rise of the Tomb Raider PS4 is finally coming to PlayStation 4 gamers. The highly anticipated game for Sony’s PS4 gaming console is available for PS4 gamers on December 30, 2016.

The game made its debut exclusively on Xbox One console last holiday season as part of an agreement with Microsoft, leaving Sony’s PS4 as the lone holdout. The exclusive release on Microsoft’s Xbox surprised many gamers, however, it was later known that the exclusive deal with Microsoft will only last a year.

An earlier report by GameRant, PS4 gamers were surprised when the Square Enix’s move indicates an exclusive deal with Microsoft. No one knows what exactly the game publisher Square Enix is thinking about that time. The whole story was later revealed to be a timed exclusive for the Xbox One and Xbox 360, and not an outright exclusive.

PS4 gamers can now pre-order the “Rise of the Tomb Raider” at online retailer site Amazon. The PS4 version could immediately go live as soon as the PC version became available for download. The game is set to release for PlayStation 4 in the second half of 2016.

Developed Crystal Dynamics and published by Square Enix, Rise of the Tomb Raider is the sequel to the 2013 action-adventure video game Tomb Raider, a reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise. It first released for Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles in November 2015 and Microsoft Windows in January 2016.

If you can’t link to Crystal Dynamics, Square Enix, or Sony saying “This is the launch date for Rise of the Tomb Raider, I’m calling bullshit. Take your unfounded clickbait and shove up your ass.

Not buying this game til it’s $20 bucks. I would have bought this day one last year, but now there’s too many games to play. Square Enix you screwed the pooch on this one! I think I’ll wait for FF15 too, just to punish SE.

  • Ohmicron

Totally agree with 54nakaD. They made me wait a year and it’s already come way down in price for the XBox. I will wait until this baby is discount priced. Screw them for giving XBox a 1 year exclusive. I might not buy it at all

Wow! You actually used Amazon’s placeholder release date as the actual release date? It’s amazing that same date has Tekken 7, Kingdom Hearts 2.8, Final Fantasy 7 Remake and many more. They even have Kingdom Hearts 3 with that release date. You should’ve written about that. You would’ve gotten even more views.

Journalistic integrity means nothing to these schmucks. It’s all about the clicks, twats.

Gosh I’m so hyped for Rise of the Tomb Raider to be released on PS4 but I want an actual source and a confirmation of the release date by Crystal Dynamics or Square Enix, and Amazon is not it. Please reference the true source of information.
