Hakeem Nicks ruled out for Sunday
For the third straight week, New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks will not play on Sunday.
According to ESPN, Nicks is missing Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns because of a combination of foot and knee injuries.
In his first two games of the season, Nicks has recorded 14 catches for 237 yards and a touchdown. He has not played since being named Offensive Player of the Week in Week 2.
The loss of Nicks for Sunday is just one of many for the Giants, reports The New York Times.
Ramses Barden, one of the receivers the Giants turned to when Nicks first sat out, suffered a concussion against the Eagles. This means the Giants will only have four receivers on their roster against the Browns according to the Times: starters Victor Cruz and Domenik Hixon and reserves Rueben Randle and Jerrel Jernigan.
New York’s defense is also struggling to stay healthy. ESPN reports that cornerback Corey Webster, safeties Antrel Rolle and Kenny Phillips, linebacker Michael Boley and defensive tackle Rocky Bernard all missed practice Thursday.
