Hanley Ramirez expected back in Dodgers lineup on Wednesday
Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Hanley Ramirez is expected to be back in the lineup for the Dodgers on Wednesday in the series finale against the New York Mets.
According to MLB.com, Ramirez has been out with a sore right shoulder. Ramirez could have played on Tuesday and was available to pinch hit, but Dodgers trainer Stan Conte told manager Don Mattingly to wait until Wednesday.
“Stan basically said he would be able to play today,” Mattingly said. “It sounds like he’s going to be ready to go tomorrow.”
According to NBC Sports, Ramirez has been out since August 4, when he jammed his right shoulder falling into the stands tracking down a foul ball. Ramirez did pinch hit on Friday but struck out.
Ramirez hit home runs in batting practice for three straight days and fielded ground balls and threw with no issues.
Ramirez is batting .359 with 11 home runs and 37 runs batted in for the Dodgers this season. While Ramirez has been out Dee Gordon and Nick Punto have been filling in at shortstop for the first-place Dodgers.
