Health: Common cancer causing food you might be eating everyday

A lot of people die every day because of cancer. There are several reasons why a person develops cancer cells in his or her body; it may be because of person’s vices like drinking alcohol or smoking cigarettes, drugs intake, exposure to radiations, or the foods they eat every day.

Foods are essential and vital to everyone to be able to survive every day’s challenges. According to, Foods provides much-needed nutrients that our body needs like vitamins, proteins, carbohydrates and much more. But because of man’s innovations, some foods now maybe dangerous to our health and it may develop cancer cells in our body.

Here is common cancer causing food to avoid that you might eat every day:

  1. GMO’s

Genetically modified organisms or commonly called GMO’s, are the foods that have been modified by chemicals and grown with chemicals. According to Mamavation, “these GMO foods have been modified to withstand heavy doses of a pesticide called glyphosate OR are engineered that contain a toxin that kills bugs.” Glyphosate is the most common pesticides use genetically modified crops.

There is no sufficient study that has to be done to attest the safety and danger of these GMO’s but an independent research shows that this kind of food cause rapid tumor to laboratory rats.  In the US, GMOs do not have to be disclosed on food labels at this time, so better be careful and find for labels that state the food is GMO-free.

  1. Microwave Popcorn

It is very dangerous to our health those convenient little bags of popcorns that you just need to put in a microwave. This microwave popcorn is the most common cause of lung cancer. It contains PFOA (perfluorooctanoic acid) which is the most likely carcinogen. According to Dr. Andrew Weil, the artificial butter that flavors theses microwave popcorns contains another chemical called diacetyl, which can damage the lungs when inhaled.

For the record, In Colorado, a court awarded a man a $7.2 million settlement for a lung condition from inhaling too much of these microwave popcorn which is called “popcorn lung, couple years ago. To lessen the risk of exposure to these chemicals, air pop your popcorn and add your own flavoring instead.

  1. French Fries/Potato Chips

French fries and potato chips were found to have higher levels of the chemical called acrylamide that researchers have shown increase the risk of cancer. According to the National Cancer Institute, acrylamide can found in cigarette smoke and industrial building materials, as well some foods.

This food is cooked in a hydrogenated vegetable oil which is also cancerous and then heavily salted. Aside from that, French fries and potato chips are rich in fat and calories, artificial flavors and preservatives that are very dangerous to our health.

  1. Soda and Carbonated Beverages

Sodas and other carbonated beverages have been the most common cancer-causing food for almost two years now. These drinks id composed with high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS), dyes and another chemical that is dangerous to your health. People who usually drink sodas have a high risk of stroke thank those who do not drink. It can also cause of obesity or weight gain.

Soda and carbonated beverages have no nutritional value and it will just still the nutrients you got from other foods you take. Adding “diet” to the label means you’re also likely consuming aspartame – which is no better than rat poison to human cells.

  1. Salted, Pickled, and Smoked Foods

The additives used in processed foods like salted, pickled and smoked foods can accumulate in your body over time. Eventually, such toxins cause damage at the cellular level and lead to diseases like cancer. When smoked foods are grilled at high temperatures, the nitrates are transformed to the much more dangerous nitrites. Nitrates do not cause cancer but when this chemical goes inside your body and under chemical change it becomes N-nitroso composites. This is the one who is associated with the huge growth risk of developing cancer.

There is devastating evidence that eating these types of foods will increase the risk of colorectal cancer and higher rates of stomach cancer. The number of stomach cancer is much greater in places such as Japan where a traditional diet contains many foods that are highly salted, and/or smoked.

  1. Processed Meats

Processed meats such as Bacon, lunch meat, hot dogs, sausages, and other kinds have been the cause of rapidly increasing the risk of pancreatic cancer by 67% a study concluded by the University of Hawaii. According to Organic Consumer’s Association with the high consumption of hot dogs, Leukemia risk soared high a staggering 700%. Always look for meats that have free for nitrates to lessen the risk with these foods the can cause cancers.

Doctors, nutritionist, and other health experts say that we can avoid and prevent this life threatening incident as long as we put little precautions about what we eat or take in our body. Eating more organic foods will be a great help in achieving health body.
