Seahawks embarrass Cardinals in 58-0 victory
It was an embarrassing Sunday for the Arizona Cardinals as they suffered the worst loss in their franchise history to the Seattle Seahawks. Final score was 58-0.
Quarterback John Skelton started for the Cardinals and performed poorly. Skelton completed 11 of 22 with four interceptions.
In the first half alone, the Cardinals turned the ball over six times and the Seahawks were able to score 38 points.
In the second half, the Cardinals continued their turnover trend by turning the ball over two more times.
After the game, Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt told AZ Central, “Let me just start off by saying, I apologize to our fans, everybody associated with our organization. That was embarrassing today. We owe it to them, our fans, our supporters, to give them a better product, a better job than what we did today.”
On the other side of the ball, Seahawks destroyed the Cardinals’ defense with their strong running game. Running back Marshawn Lynch ran for 128 yards and scored three touchdowns, and the Seahawks set a new franchise record for points scored.
Lynch’s backup, Robert Turbin, also ran 108 yards, according to The Associated Press.
