Kobe jumps off high dive

Jumping off a 40-foot high dive with your shoes on just four months after suffering one of the worst injuries possible in sports? Yep, Kobe Bryant can do that too.

The Los Angeles Lakers superstar shared his fearlessness with the world Thursday night in his debut on Vine, a popular social media app that Kobe was formerly wondering if he should join.

Kobe finally decided to open an account, and did so with style, just four weeks before the Lakers become one of the biggest stories in the NBA as they await his return.

The Black Mamba is set to return in record time, perhaps even for opening night on October 29 versus the cross-town rival Clippers.

Dave McMenamin of ESPNLosAngeles.com got insight from one NBA scout about Bryant’s return:

“I do expect Kobe to be back playing at a high level. I know there’s uncertainty with the Achilles’ heel. Just with his talent and his drive, I expect him to be back at a high level. I would almost worry about him pushing it too far, too fast. I think they’re going to try to force him to come back kind of slow. Don’t try to take on the world right away.”
