As the United States Labor Day officially starts in just a few hours, many retailers and business owners will once again anticipate a huge amount of people who will enter their stores. This event is the second largest sale day in the US behind Black Friday.
So aside from knowing where to score the best deals and discounts, what are to be expected from holiday sales?
According to Palm Beach Post, Labor Day marks the official end of summer, so bargain hunters should be able to find big savings on end of season sports apparel, summer clothing, swing sets and pools.
Shoppers can also expect to find deals on back-to-school items as retailers look to clear merchandise to make room for their holiday stock.

In a report published by Palm Beach Post, deal experts at Fatwell.com have shared some money-saving tips for people to get the best bargains. Here are just some of the tips:
Labor Day sales will extend beyond the holiday weekend, expect bundles and gift card bonuses, look for end of season clearance on sports apparel, summer clothing clearance will be combined with Labor Day deals, back-to-school tech savings, expect savings on appliance and mattress sets and lastly people will find the year’s best savings on swing sets and pools.
Apart from the tips, saving experts at Offers.com stated that during Labor Day sales, significant amount of shoppers are planning to buy the wrong items.
A survey they conducted shows that more than 1,500 shoppers plan to buy clothing and electronics this weekend but declared that the best deals will likely be on mattresses, appliances and outdoor furniture.
Moreover, professionals and parents are expected to spend more than the average consumer, according to the survey.
