Los Angeles Clippers defeat the Grizzlies 98-91

The Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 98-91 wearing ABA throwback uniforms. With the win, the Clippers improved their record to 10-6. Blake Griffin was a major reason why the Clippers were able to win the game.

Griffin had 20 points, nine rebounds and eight assists in 40 minutes of action. Chris Paul in his second game back from injury had 18 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Both flirted with triple doubles. According to NBA.com, Griffin recorded a triple double last season when the Clippers played the Grizzlies.

Mo Williams is continuing is hot play off the bench for the Clippers. He scored 18 points and four steals. ESPN.com reports Williams is averaging 22.2 points in his last five games.

Rudy Gay led the Grizzlies and all scorers with 24 points but his effort alone could not carry the Grizzlies to victory. O.J. Mayo had 14 off the bench.

Chris Paul extended his stealing streak with two steals last night. He now has a steal in 20 consecutive games played. Paul and Griffin will most likely represent the Clippers in the All-Star game as both are having all-star caliber seasons.

For the Clippers they play the Denver Nuggets on the road Sunday while the Grizzlies take on the Phoenix Suns on Saturday.
