Los Angeles Lakers get big win against Oklahoma City Thunder
It has been a crazy year for the Los Angeles Lakers but they may be back. Kobe Bryant led the team to a big victory against the Oklahoma City Thunder 105-96.
Kobe Bryant made some very important passes and finished the game with 21 points, 14 assists and nine rebounds. Steve Nash added 17 points to the scoreboard and seven of them were within the last five and a half minutes of the game. Pau Gasol had 16 points coming off the bench.
For the Thunder Kevin Durant had 35 points and Russell Westbrook score 17 and had 13 assists and nine rebounds. Durant and Bryant were only one rebound away from a triple double but neither of them got it.
The Associated Press reported on how the players felt about the game.
Bryant said, ”We’re doing a good job right now of just being real with each other and holding each other accountable. That makes a huge difference. I’m trying to evolve and find out what we need as a ballclub.”
Durant said, ”They needed a win. It was a must-win for them, and they came out and performed well. They were hitting shots, and they were doing a good job of protecting the paint. We missed some good shots as well. As a group, we all have to do our roles better. Every individual has to play their role to a T for us to win games, but we’ll be fine.”
Dwight Howard scored eight points and had 10 rebounds, however he missed eight of his ten free throws. Something that has always been a weak spot for the big center.
The AP reports that there were technical fouls. The first one was called on Bryan when him and Durant got tangled up in the 3rd quarter. Near the end of the game with 5:22 remaining for arguing a no call.
